Should Ministry of Education consider making Information and Technology subject an official examination?

Education for students should include from the very basic knowledge and also knowledge that is required in our recent times, for example, the knowledge of information and technology. The benefit of learning this subject is for students to master basic computer skills to prepare them with necessities of using computer later when they further studies in tertiary level and also working environment. As a matter of fact, Information and Technology is seen as one of the requirements in developing holistic skills. Should Ministry of Education include this subject in the official examination? (e.g UPSR, PMR, SPM, STPM). Here are my thoughts on why the government should approve Information and Technology as one of the compulsory subject in official exam.

1) Students may develop their ongoing skills on computer knowledge
2) It will develop student's awareness on the importance of having adequate skills in IT
3) Students will be prepared with sufficient computer skills when they reach higher level education.
4) Students are able to express their creativity through learning this subject
5) Students are also able to develop their competitiveness with other students
